Solemn Academy on the occasion of the jubilee - the 90th anniversary of the birth of His Holiness Patriarch of Kyiv and All Russia-Ukraine Filaret.
On January 23, 2019, "Ukraina" National Palace of Arts hosted the solemn Academy on the occasion of the jubilee - the 90th anniversary of the birth of His Holiness Patriarch of Kyiv and All Russia-Ukraine Filaret.
Many people from all over Ukraine came to congratulate His Holiness Patriarch Filaret on his anniversary: His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Epiphanius, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman, wife of the President of Ukraine Mrs. Maryna Poroshenko, bishopric of the United Local Ukrainian Orthodox Church, numerous clergy and common people, members of the Government, people's deputies, heads and representatives of churches and religious organizations, heads of regional, district, and city state administrations, representatives of scientific and creative institutions, soldiers of the Armed Forces and the National Guard, political and public figures.
The President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, also congratulated His Holiness Patriarch Filaret with his anniversary in a video-message, because at that time he was with an important visit outside of Ukraine.
The solemn academy began with the singing of the prayer "God is With Us " performed by the combined choir of the "Dumka" chapel, the choir by H.Veryovka, and an ensemble of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. People's Artist of Ukraine Petro Maga conducted the holiday program.
All the guests watched on a big screen a new film about the way of life and the church service of His Holiness Patriarch Filaret, specially prepared for the archpastor's anniversary.
In the second part of the solemn Academy, there was a concert, in which participated: the National Honored Academic Chapel of Ukraine "Dumka", H.Veryovka National Honored Academic Ukrainian Folk Choir of Ukraine, P.Virsky National Honored Academic Dance Ensemble of Ukraine, Honored Academic Ensemble of Song and Dance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Kyiv Ars Nova Percussion Instrument, Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, People's Artist of Ukraine Oksana Bilozir, Heroes of Ukraine Vasyl Zinkevich and Anatolii Palamarenko, People's Artist of Ukraine Taras Petrynenko. Honored Artist of Ukraine Petro Maga read his poem devoted to Patriarch Filaret. The concert program finished by the singing of the "Long live" (Mnohaia lita) together by all the performers.
Numerous guests had the opportunity to personally congratulate the Patriarch on his anniversary and express him sincere wishes of health, spiritual and bodily strength, God's help, and many good years to serve the Church and Ukraine!
